Aire Redtree

Aire Redtree has been a singer/songwriter for over 10 years, demonstrating her versatility by composing over 100 songs in many styles ranging from Folk Rock to Electronica. Following her studies of the music business, both in school and while working in the recording industry, she furthered her training as a musician in studios and performance spaces and was accepted into the California Institute of the Arts and Hollywood’s Musician’s Institute .

Aire has been performing throughout California for nearly 10 years and has been heard performing her original folk tunes at coffee shops, chanting with 9 Wind (a twelve piece collective with roots in World Music), playing at clubs and underground parties with her instrumental trip-hop set, and freestylin’ with LA and San Francisco’s finest Emcee’s and Producers. Aire Redtree has collaborated with producers in many realms of Electronica including Ambient, Trance, Tribal Techno, Breakbeat, Jungle, Downtempo, Dub- Step, Trip Hop and Hip-Hop.

In 2009, Aire released a limited number of albums as a benefit for World Hunger Year showcasing some of the music she has recorded during the past several years on her own music label and non-profit humanities benefit organization, HER Music (“Heal Earth Rite” – www.hermusic.org). She is also the director of the Beats For Peace Project, and an organizer for the Women’s Music Network (WMN).

From upbeat affirmations to sorrowful social commentary, the diverse trip-hop and downtempo tracks from Aire Redtree’s 2010 release, “WHY?,” are as powerful and uplifting as they are chill and soothing. The album is part of the Beats For Peace Project and a portion of the album’s sales help cure the problems of hunger, homelessness and poverty, as they will be donated to the World Hunger Year organization. The album is very original, yet reminiscent of genre-bending musical giants like Bjork, Portishead, Massive Attack, and Thievery Corporation.
