Aaron Aarti

Legend has it that Aaron was writing music in the womb.

Aaron Aarti is a composer, producer, singer/songwriter, filmmaker, and the founder and owner of the Satya Dharma Music recording label.

Aaron Aarti has been composing and producing music for over 15 years. Aaron studied Music Theory, Composition, and Orchestration at UCLA with great composers such as Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, the Universal Theme), Paul Seiko Chihara, Ian Krouse, Paul Reale, and David Lefkowitz, and attended guest lectures with immensely influential composers such as John Adams and Phillip Glass. In addition to being a composer, he is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the piano, violin, french horn, guitar, percussion, and more. His concert music for electronics and chamber ensemble has been performed throughout the Los Angeles area by ensembles such as the Definiens Project (www.definiens.org), and his award winning compositions and arrangements for percussion ensembles have been performed throughout the United States.

Aaron’s music, sound design, and editing are featured in the documentary “40 Miles East of LA: Freakout in Cucamonga,” which tells the story of Frank Zappa’s first recording studio and the birth of surf music, through period recordings and interviews with Weird Al Yankovic, original members of the Mothers Of Invention, and more. Aaron produced the documentary together with filmmakers Adam Fiorenza and Derek Miley.

He has worked as an assistant to composer/producer/sound designer Craig Harris with the company MusikDelux and Ascent Media, the creators of the Hollywood Edge Sound Library and parent organization of the Todd-AO Studios. He has also worked for Hollywood film composer, Alex Wurman (March of the Penguins, Anchorman).

In 2005, Aaron Aarti turned his attention to the electronic music scene with the Temple Of Truth, a multi-media performance ensemble which has performed at dance and arts events throughout the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas.

His 2010 release, “Under The Sun and Moon,” is his debut album as a singer/songwriter.

Aaron is currently managing the Satya Dharma Music recording label, producing and performing original music, and writing, directing, and producing original films.
